An Invitation to Shape the Future

As colleagues and fellow shareholders in the discipline of technical and scientific communication, we invite you to join us in a process of virtual collaboration and mutual inquiry. Our goal is to foster new research in program assessment.

This is a critical moment in the history of our field, a time when both academic and industry practitioners are reaching out to one another to define our profession, establish a body of knowledge, and describe the learning outcomes for our programs.

With your help, we hope to develop an empirically-based program assessment model. Rather than suggesting a uniform standard, our goal is to develop a set of universal, non-context specific programmatic elements that can be field tested, modified, and validated by other programs in the CPTSC community. Emphasizing context and accountability, these emerging guidelines will support the CPTSC vision of self-study while accommodating our differences in instructional settings, learning environments, and teaching philosophy.

We look forward to expanding the resources available in this community Please join us now by participating in the Community Assessment Blog, posting your experiences and experiments with program assessment research.
